While most of the techniques of Comfort Touch involve direct physical contact with the client, the same principles also apply when using non-contact techniques, which acknowledge the presence of the electromagnetic field which surrounds and infuses the human body. Electromagnetic field strokes are useful where physical contact is not appropriate, for example, over the site of tumors, surgical scars, burns or other wounds. These techniques are also soothing and comforting in their own right when offered with the clarity of intention of the Comfort Touch practitioner.
